Charity House

The Catalytic Foundation and Otago Polytechnic come together every November with the Charity House project which teaches and shares resources to benefit the Otago community. The house is constructed on-campus in Dunedin to maximise learning opportunities for carpentry students and to give them a chance to contribute to the local community.

The charities are chosen by our regional volunteers in a tried and transparent process to ensure they best meet the need in the community.

“Otago Polytechnic is thrilled to continue its relationship with the Catalytic Foundation. The learning our students get by building a charity house (with help of supplies, services and furnishings from our local businesses) and seeing the profit go back to local charities to help our community is really important. This relationship is positive for all involved and make a great contribution to the health and well-being of the Otago Community”.  Otago Polytechnic
